ummm, remember me?
March 15th, 2007so has it been more than a month?… it doesn’t seem so… things have been pretty busy on my end… some of you may already know, i started a new job a couple of weeks ago… so far so good… i’m pretty much doing the same thing, ie. software developlment. although i’m now learning a whole new programming language. not sure if i really made the right move. the good thing is the work environment. i get in at like 8 now everyday, and leave at 4… basically a 9 to 5 job. the commute is *much* better now - it takes only 20 - 25 minutes each way. whereas before it would take 35-45 minutes… even an hour sometimes. travel time makes a huge difference i’v realized. you not only lose so much time driving, but by the time you get home, u’r mentally and physically tired.
anyways, in other news, the CRA fixed their ’software’ glitch and you can now submit your tax forms online using NETFILE. i personally use a tax program called UFile, which is amazing because it does a lot of optimizations for you, and you can carry forward last years tax file. the software only costs $20 (cheapest of the bunch) and it allows 6 tax filings. i remember not too long ago, my dad used to give some guy $25 per tax filing. talk about a savings! anyhow, i submitted my tax file today, and hopefully, if everything goes good, i’ll get a nice return in the mail in a few days. i think i need a new… ahh screw it… i need to save! for some reason, i feel like i haven’t been doing much of it the last 4 years that i’ve been working. that’s all going to change, right?… prolly not, but it doesn’t hurt to be optimistic

Umm…hi! I linked to your post from Half a Cup of Chai…and after reading your About Me section, ummm…okay I don’t know how to say this but I think I know you and your family (You have another younger brother and an elder sister?)
Enyur aka Nadia
By the way, sorry forgot to comment on your post! About the commute…I hear ya! It takes me about 1.5 hours from home to work and then another 1.5 hrs on my way back. I’m exhausted by the time I get home! Although, summers are a bit better since the days are longer.
hi nadia… hmm, not exactly sure who you are… but u are correct, i do have a younger brother and an elder sister… so how do you know my family and i ?
so do you take public transit?… to be honest, i’d love to take the GO or the subway to work… its a nice ride, just sit down and read (or sleep)… but having to drive 1.5 hours is brutal!
Hi Rehan,
Well, my parents used to own a halal meat/grocery shop way back when we were kids…and your parents used to shop there and so that’s how we know your family (although, we haven’t met in a long time…so you probably don’t even remember me). Don’t really want to blow my identity online so I’ll leave it as that lol!
I actually drive half way to the subway station and then take the subway train to Downtown. I don’t like driving all the way, mainly because I don’t think I have the patience to wait in traffic. And besides, on the train, I can read my daily newspaper or read a good book on the way back
)
ahhh, so that’s how you know my family… small world!
yeah i’d love to work downtown… taking the subway/GO is a great way to catch up on reading… saves gas and maintenance for the car… and great for the environment… i should have gotten a job downtown!
intriguing
LOL
What happened to our crew? We’ve all dispersed and have gone into hiding. Or in other words, we’ve grown up lol. Yes Ray you need to save now. Big responsibilities coming you way! I heard it’s all happening this summer?? Any chance you will wait until end of August…? I’m missing so many weddings this summer, but I’ll be back in August. This is, of course, assuming I’d be invited. Which now I’ve put you on the spot about publicly…
And I’ve feel I’ve done some good in the world be uniting old family friends…though you don’t recognize Nadia… still, my blog has done some good. That’s it for the week.
Hello my friends
;)
